The Spotting Scope Accessory Rail (SSAR) is engineered to enhance the versatility of the Leupold Mark 4 12-20x60mm and 20-60x80mm spotting scopes with night vision device. The Spotting Scope Accessory Rail (SSAR) allows users to easily and securely mount 'clip-on' night vision and thermal imaging sights in front of the spotting scope objective for nighttime and foul weather observation. The Spotting Scope Accessory Rail (SSAR) is designed to work in conjunction with the APOs patented and US Army issued optical Tactical Interface Mount (T.I.M.)

The SSAR interlocks with the inverted TIM mount holding the Mark 4 spotting scope lowering its center of gravity. The TIM provides co-located Picatinny rail mounts for laser illuminators-pointers and laser range finders. The Spotting Scope Accessory Rail (SSAR) can also be used with any sturdy photographic tripod with 1/4 x 20 screw mounts.

The Spotting Scope Accessory Rail (SSAR) can be employed in the standard upright position with the Leupold Mark 4 spotting scope or in a low profile under slung position using Ashburys TIM or TIM-17 mount. Either Spotting Scope Accessory Rail (SSAR) mounting position allows for the attachment of a variety of clip-on electro-optical devices to include; AN/PVS-22/24/26/27/30 and thermal sights. The lightweight Spotting Scope Accessory Rail (SSAR) has a standard 1/4 x 20 thread screw mount with a hardcoat anodized finish.
