White membranes are made of 100% nitrocellulose (no added cellulose acetate) for high binding capacity (80–100µg/cm2). Less than 1.0% extractables for cell growth and tissue culture applications. Quality controlled. To sterilize, membranes can be autoclaved (liquid cool cycle) or irradiated. The Protran BA-83 membrane (0.2µm) is recommended for protein samples below 20kD and the Protran BA-85 membrane (0.45µm) is recommended for general nucleic acid work.
