The Sky Watcher EQ5 PRO 11 Inch SCT Advanced Telescope S11670 a telescope that will quench almost any amateur astronomer's thirst for aperture. This Sky Watcher Telescope's 11 inch optical tube is easy to manage, as is the mount and tripod. Compared to a 10", 11", or 12" one piece, fork mounted Schmidt-Cassegrain Telescope design, the Sky Watcher EQ5 PRO 11" Telescope is far more easier to lift, set up, and transport. This is a perfect example of why the equatorial mount has the advantage in convincing amateur astronomers to comfortably operate larger aperture telescopes.

Observing into deep space with this Schmidt-Cassegrain telescope by Sky Watcher is incredible especially with the high resolution images that can be viewed or photographed through this advanced observatory-class instrument. A lot more can be seen with the 11 inch SCT Telescope compared to smaller 8 inch and even 10 inch telescopes at limiting visual magnitude. Diffuse emission nebulae in the summer sky like the Lagoon (M8), Trifid (M20), and Swan (M17); the stunning globular star clusters M13 and M92 in Constellation Hercules; the Rosette Nebula in Monoceros shows the noticeable pattern of a blooming rose; the awesome winter sky's Great Orion Nebula (M42) in Constellation Orion, and the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) in Constellation Andromeda are some of the many astronomical phenomenon that can be viewed out in the sky.

The Schmidt-Cassegrain optical system of this Sky-Watcher Telescope folds the light path back on top of itself, and as a result producing a powerful, long focal length instrument in a compact optical tube. A shorter tube means less bulk and weight for lifting and transporting. The closed optical tube serves to protect and keep the mirror's surface cleaner.
