The majority of production machetes are made from .089in-.125in thick spring steel, so we chose to go with .285in thick 80CRV2 Tool Steel. 80CRV2 tool steel is characterized by a very high impact toughness and resistance to shock load. We decided the Fury needed to be heavy enough for light breeching, but still lightweight enough to be usable in close quarters and keep on your person. Furthermore, this design needed to be cutting edge with a stylish but functional profile.
