The long working distance of 100mm allows safe focusing even with samples having markedly uneven surfaces. This is useful when using tweezers, dissection tools or a pipette during specimen manipulation. The integrity of the microscope lenses are maintained even in hot, humid environments by the mold-resistant finish inside of the zooming body. It also comes with dedicated eyepieces with diopter adjustments for parfocality. Combining the Nikon SMZ-445 (MMA23008) with E10XB eyepieces (MMK20106) along with rubber eyecups makes for a perfect basic research microscope.
