The 660 Pursuit Pro Large Folding Guthook hunting knife combines a highly visible, sure grip handle with Buck's high end S35VN steel. Buck's S35VN steel provides the same edge retention as S30V steel but its properties allow it to resharpen easier, making it a great choice for skinning multiple animals with the option of field sharpening when necessary. The guthook on the blade makes easy work when field dressing. This knife easily opens with one hand using the thumbstuds. The blade is secured with a lock back mechanism for safe use. The comfortable, contoured handle reduces hand fatigue while working. This knife is carried with a heavy-duty nylon sheath with a belt loop. The knife measures 5" (12.7 cm) when closed. • One Handed Opening. Has a thumb stud, blade hole or other feature to facilitate one-hand use. Some models are one-hand opening and one-hand closing as well.
• S35VN. This martensitic stainless steel provides supreme edge retention with a combination of ductility, hardness, toughness, and corrosion resistance. For optimal performance, we harden to Rc 59-61.
• Gut Hook. For great performance when field dressing game, a gut or skinning hook is an ideal tool. We've paid careful attention to the angles on the sharpened edge, shape and size of the entry opening and location of the hook on the blade, making a Buck gut hook the best.
• Lockback. Lockback folding knives have a mechanism that lock the blade in the open position, activated by opening the blade all the way. A lock back gets its name from a rocker (rocking lock bar) partially visible on top of the knife. Opening the blade causes the rocker to lock against the blade so it locks open. Pushing down on the rocker on top of the handle releases it and enables the user to close the blade. Lockbacks require two hand closing, though some are one hand openers.
