Systems are integrated, automation-friendly cell environments designed to promote the rapid differentiation of Caco-2 cells in vitro. The specialized media formulations of the system produce a differentiated monolayer in just three days. Each system contains a fibrillar collagen-coated 24-well cell culture insert suitable for robotic screening of prospective pharmaceuticals for oral bioavailability and absorption. Large volume media feeder tray further reduces the need for frequent media changes. The feeder tray allows all 24 wells to be bathed in the same medium for better uniformity across the plate. Systems may also be used manually with individual or multichannel pipettors.
