OpticsForYou.com accepts Visa™, MasterCard™, Discover™, and The American Express Card™, PayPal, Purchase Orders, Certified Checks and Money Orders. Credit Card number is submitted at the checkout, but the credit card will not be charged until the item(s) you ordered are ready to ship. If you decide to pay by a personal check or money order, you must complete and send us our
order form (
PDF) along with your payment. Personal checks and business checks must clear before we can ship your order.
OpticsForYou.com accepts (but does not require) Purchase Orders (PO's) from Fortune 1000 companies, universities and educational institutions, and government agencies. You can even pay with
PayPal! When paying with PayPal, you will not go through store shopping card checkout. Simply select the item from our website, and send us the payment in the amount of the item's cost plus the cost of shipping to
sales@OpticsForYou.com. You must follow up with a very detailed e-mail to us including your 1. Name and phone number; 2. Correct shipping address; 3. The complete name of the item and item SKU, if possible; 4. Item cost and shipping cost. Your Ship To address
must be confirmed with PayPal. We do not accept COD payments at this time.
Bank wire transfer is acceptable and preferred method for
international orders. In choosing wire transfer as your payment method, your bank will charge you a fee to process your wire transfer. Please note that there is an additional $40 bank service fee for this payment type that our bank charges us, so $40 USD should be added to the total. Please add the wire transfer fees to the cost of your order. Not calculating these fees could delay the processing of your order.

Sales Tax
In most instances, we do NOT charge Sales tax UNLESS your order is shipped to an address within the state of Illinois. Illinois State law requires that we charge sales tax on the full amount of the order, not including shipping, if shipped within the state of Illinois. Because we are located in Northbrook, IL (located in Cook County), all shipments to Illinois addresses are charged at that local rate of 8.5% (After March 31st, 2008: 8.75%). No sales tax is charged when buying gift certificates. However, purchases paid for with OpticsPlanet gift certificates, will be charged sales tax if shipped to addresses within the state of Illinois.
In some cases, which vary from state to state, we may be required to charge you sales tax when items are shipped directly from the manufacturer. For example, Large Aperture Telescopes (10” and up) such as the Meade LXD 75 telescope or some Celestron Telescopes may be shipped directly from their respective factories in California. Orders for these items with a Ship-to address located in California will be charged the California rate for sales tax.
In the event that sales tax has to be added to your order, we will notify you immediately with the exact tax amount BEFORE we charge your credit card and have your order shipped.

Order Verification and Advisories
You will receive email verifications at each stage of the order process i.e.:
- Receipt of Order;
- Order Shipment;
- Notification of delay and estimated delivery time for special or out-of-stock items (most of our products are in stock and ship on the next business day!);
- Feedback request after you have had a chance to use and evaluate your purchase.
Your receipt of an order confirmation, delivered via e-mail or any other method, does not signify our acceptance of your order, nor does it constitute confirmation of our offer to sell.
OpticsForYou reserves the right to accept or decline your order for any reason at any point after receipt of your order . All orders placed by credit card are subject to address verification by our credit and fraud prevention department, and this may delay the processing of your order. We may notify you that we are unable to ship to your P.O. Box and/or must ship to your credit card billing address. This is all done to protect you from fraudulent credit card charges and identity theft. We cannot be held responsible if your order is delayed for any of the above reasons or any other reasons. When an order needs to be shipped to an address different from the billing address or when an international credit card is used, we need to obtain additional authorization from you. International Orders
For all International Orders (including US territories outside of 50 US states) or orders placed with a non-US issued credit card we require a copy of back and front of your credit card as well as a filled out copy of our
Credit Card Authorization Form in which you authorize us to charge your card the amount of the order plus the cost of freight. You can either scan that info and e-mail it to us to sales@OpticsForYou.com or fax it to us at (847) 919-3008. Unless you pay via bank wire transfer, your International Order will not be shipped until we get the above documents.
Please keep in mind that there might be a charge of customs duty or brokerage fee imposed by your government or other entity in your country on items received from the United States. You are responsible for all custom and brokerage fees, duties and taxes that are imposed when these goods are imported into your country. Since these fees will vary from country to country, we do not know what your fees will be and advise you to contact your local government customs agent to determine the rate for navigation electronics. In the event that any custom fees are billed to our shipping account, these fees will automatically be billed to your credit card. To avoid delay in receiving your product from customs, be sure that you provide us with a phone number where the customs agency can reach you when your product arrives. Shipping charges are calculated during checkout. All prices are in U.S. dollars. If you are a non-US customer, your credit card company will convert your order total from U.S. dollars to local currency. We ship most in-stock orders placed within 1-2 business days. Unless otherwise requested, we ship via UPS Ground
FREE of charge on orders over $29.95 anywhere in the Continental United States (shipping to AK, AS, CZ, GU, HI, MP, PR, RI, VI is extra). There is a $6.99 flat charge for all UPS ground orders valued under $29.95. A 3-5 business day UPS Ground service is now available to AK and HI at the actual weight-based cost provided by UPS Shipping calculator. Express shipping options via
UPS and
USPS are also available within the United States, including AK and HI. Orders going to APO/FPO/AAO/AEO addresses are shipped via USPS, free of charge. See more details on shipping here.
We normally don't charge your credit card until we ship your order from our warehouse.

Express and International – We ship worldwide to those countries where UPS and USPS services is available. Shipping charges are calculated during checkout.
Out of stock items - We will verify out-of-stock or special orders immediately on receipt and send an email advisory with estimated shipping date. Normally all products shown on our site are in stock and ship from our IL warehouse.
Partial Shipments – You will be notified by email if an order cannot be shipped in its entirety. With your permission, we will ship the available items.
Cancellation Policy If you call or e-mail us and want to cancel the order before it has been shipped, we will gladly cancel it free of charge. If we have already shipped your items and charged your card, the restocking fee may apply based on the circumstances.
OpticsForYou does not ship on Saturday or Sunday. Standard UPS Ground shipping normally takes 2-5 business days depending on your location. For more details on OpticsForYou.com shipping options please click here.
All shipped items are insured. Inspect your order carefully once it arrives. It is unlikely that anything is damaged as we pack our orders well, but we do not want you to risk. Do NOT sign for a damaged parcel without a full inspection of the contents. If you receive a damaged item, notify your local UPS terminal within 24 hours or contact us sales@OpticsForYou.com or (800) 504-5813 for instructions. All orders can be tracked on our UPS tracking page or directly on the UPS site using the package tracking number that we e-mail to you once the order is shipped. PLEASE note it might take up to 24 hours for the tracking number to become valid because UPS database requres time to become updated. Feel free to contact us if you need help tracking your order.

Returns For Refund or Exchange
We are committed to your satisfaction and will happily process your return or exchange accordingly to our policies, but please follow our procedures. If you are dissatisfied in any way with your purchase from OpticsForYou.com, you have 30 days from the day of purchase to return it for a credit or exchange.
- To ensure that you are properly credited, YOU MUST FIRST CONTACT
OpticsForYou.com to obtain a Return Authorization Number which must be displayed on the outside of the package. No return or exchange is accepted without an RMA number. Please Note: OpticsForYou.com does not accept returns on international orders. All requests for exchange must be received by OpticsForYou.com within 10 days of receipt of product. Items must be returned in NEW condition, in the original manufacturer packaging material. All returns are shipped prepaid by the customer; no CODs are accepted.
WARRANTY returns must be sent directly to the manufacturer.
- A Return Authorization Form must be completed for all Returns and an Exchange Authorization Form must be completed for all Exchanges. One copy of this form should be included with the return package, and a second copy of this form should be e-mailed to sales@opticsforyou.com along with the tracking number of the package with returned goods.& We will then e-mail you a Return Authorization Number, which is good for 30 days. Please be certain that returned merchandise is in the original condition and in its original packaging.
- The undamaged product must be returned via a prepaid mail service. Please remember to include all the promotional items and instruction manuals that you have received as part of this order. The product should be wrapped safely in order to protect it from shipping damage. OpticsPlanet.com will provide a refund for a complete return given that all of the above conditions are met. A 15% restocking fee will apply in most cases. If the return is incomplete, the refund will issued based on the condition of the returned product and value of missing items. Please understand that we cannot accept goods that are returned incomplete or in obviously "used" condition. We are unable to take back prescription sunglasses because each pair is custom made for each prescription and cannot be resold or returned. Returns are inspected and processed within 2 to 4 weeks of receipt, and refunds are credited or mailed within 2 weeks of processing.
- A 15% restocking fee covers our return processing, credit card fees, packing, shipping, and other restocking expenses. If the return is a result of our mistake, the restocking fee will be waived. We normally waive restocking charges for exchanges if a replacement order of equal or greater value is placed for the same or another product from our online store.(back to top)
